Bank Account Verification

The Bank Account Verification (BAV) product allows you to confirm the validity of a given bank account, and ensure that the account belongs to the associated user you have on your record. This is a useful tool that may be used to prevent fraudulent and third-party payments.

Stitch's Bank Account Verification flow is simple, and may be used regardless of whether you have captured the usage of a bank account previously or part of a separate flow, or are capturing them from the user in an in-line journey. Example use-cases of BAV include:

• Verifying bank account details provided by a user, before allowing them to withdraw funds to the account, from a wallet on your platform.
• Checking that a bank account is still valid, open and verified before making a withdrawal, if the same account has not been used in a few months.
• Checking whether a user who has paid you, has paid from an account that they indeed own, and that a payment was not from a third-party.
