Payshap Request (RTP)

Payshap Request, also known as Request to Pay (RTP), is an alternative to EFT methods that provides users at participating banks with a faster, simpler, more secure way to pay. Rather than requiring a user's bank account login details, RTP allows users to specify their account or mobile number to send a request to their banking app, where they can easily approve the payment.

RTP forms part of the Pay By Bank product suite and is an alternative to Instant EFT, meaning that it will replace the Instant EFT bank option if it is enabled for that bank. If enabled in addition to bank-federated API methods, such as Capitec Pay or Absa Pay, the respective RTP method for the bank will be used.
